TPACK Teacher Quest: DG1 Copyright
Copyright laws govern the work an individual creates. Through copyright an individual is given full
authority over the product or document they create. In order to be able to use
work someone else has produced; permission from the author is required. The Creative Commons have put together 6
licenses that outline ways an author can allow others to use the work they
created.
The important thing I think to teach students is to be
creative and try and produce their own unique work. At the same time, if students do need to refer
to other authors creations; then it is important to give the producer of the
materials the due respect and value they deserve for their hard work. It is important to show students how to use
work that has a creative commons licence.
